A case study on a 37 year old man suggests that multiple micronutrient deficiencies played a role in the cause of his multiple sclerosis. The authors state he had several key nutrient deficiencies, which they think impaired his ability to excrete harmful metals. They state that, "nutritional treatment may be an effective approach to this disease" due to the role of nutrients in various detoxification pathways.
